a Note From Sam:
Hey guys. Gonna get a little sappy for a second. Whether you've been here since the beginning or you just joined last week, I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart for being a part of this journey. As of February 2023, it will officially be two years since I started writing my first ever script, Trying.
When I made the decision to start writing, I was depressed, mourning a failed acting job, and balancing the effects of both a quarter-life and national health crisis. And while I knew forming a production company and shooting a short film during a pandemic would take a lot of work, nothing could have prepared me for all of the lessons I would learn over the next two years, including finding myself and realizing my path in this crazy industry.
Following the screening on Wednesday, Trying will officially live online for free to anyone who wants to watch the film. While this feels like the "season finale" for the film, it's just the beginning for the story of Trying, and I'm so excited to see where it goes next. I can't wait to celebrate the last two years with so many of you on Wednesday, and once again: thank you, thank you, thank you, all!
